Bryans little world.

I was laying on the couch just thinking about America.  What did make America great?  My mind went into a deep spiral of thoughts and even emotions.  I then thought of patriots.  No not the “New England” kind, but of the patriots of old.  Who are patriots?  I don’t know.  Ronald Reagan may have been the last of the patriots.  Why do I think this?  Well to me a patriot is a person who goes beyond even what his desires are for the better good of America.  I don’t see this in politic’s anymore.  All I see anymore is Republican and Democrat.  Oh and a tea party and green movement.  But where are the patriots?  They have gotten pushed into the “extreme” closet to never be brought out again.  I see a “patriotic” act by senators every once in a while.  But it is rare anymore.  A patriot doesn’t throw leaves in the wind and see where he moves, he JUST moves for the best of the country.  If that is upwind then so be it.  If it is downwind then that is what he will do.  It is called “CORE CONVICTIONS.”  I wish our politicians really had some.

A patriot believes in sacrifice.  That’s right, not looking out for “number one.”  This so goes against our current culture.  We think we are awesome because we can text some digits and add 10 bucks to our bill that will go for relief in another county.  That is good, but is that all?  Where is the helping of the homeless or giving of time into another ones life?  We have been taught, unfortunatley, that we can be okay and allow bad things to happen around us as long as it doesn’t affect us then it really is none of our business.  BOGUS!  When we see a need we need to fill a need the best way posible. That is what patriots do. That’s what will make America great again. Sacrifice, hard work, and more hard work.  Patriots are thrown up as some sort of “Optimus Prime” of our American culture.  But this is not true.  Patriots come in all shapes and form, and is not respected by money or fame.  Only the desire to see our country great again. 

We need America to be great again.  But the direction we are going is more of an European Highbred.  Patriots stand up.  Lead by conviction, and passion.  We need you, I need you.
